Today was an eventful day at TBR. To start off, we jumped straight into a tricky spelling test that had most people caught in a loop. The controversial words of the day were broccoli, curiosity, and peep! We then moved on to word review and shared our spelling test results, leading to a very vocal debate about whether the marks should be mentioned. I eventually decided not to mention them š .
After that is where the real fun began. I split the class into groups of four, and in each group, everyone had to unanimously agree on which story they would act out, based on the stories they had written two weeks ago. The selection process actually went much smoother than I expected. The teamwork training is clearly working!
Then it was time to start acting. Every team had its own strategy, whether it was having everyone say a line or using the entire classroom as a stage. Different plays had different objectives, and that is what made the performances so entertaining. Each team was randomly assigned an act and came up when it was their turn.
My personal favourite was Act 4, titled āThe Boy Who Met the Ghost,ā by James (our head boy), Cornelia, Vincent, Daniel, Petra, and Joana, for their creativity and improvisation. However, the class favourite was Act 3, titled āAma, the Lazy Girl,ā by Abigail, Rebecca (our head girl), Delight, Hayford, and Oscar, for their expressive acting and relatable plot.
Everyone had a great time, but it was made even better when the winning team was called up to cut cake for the class. Everyone enjoyed a slice of cake, along with complimentary goodies brought by our visitor for the day, Michaela. Shout-out to Michaela for joining us, helping with the cake cutting, and bringing the children chocolates and cool pencils!
š Thanks for staying tuned to the end. If you liked this post, make sure to give it a heart and comment below which act you liked better: Act 3 or Act 4. Scroll down for the pictures and videos from today! š
