A Diligent Day Of Work! (30/08/25)

Today was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!! The buzz of the children’s eagerness to learn was at an all-time high!

After finishing Aunt Denene’s book Early Sunday Morning, we jumped right into a tricky spelling test, with words like announcement and tambourine giving everybody a run for their money! Kudos to James, Cornelia, Lucinda, and Gerald for showing diligence and earning full scores!

In case you can’t already tell, our Word of the Week is: Diligent — which means to show care and effort toward your work. The shout-out for the best example used with diligence goes to… me — for emphasizing the importance of diligence whether you are at a Titanic Beach Readers meeting, at school, or at home!

ACTIVITY OF THE WEEK:

As for activities, today was calmer. We did individual reading for about 15 minutes since we didn’t have much time. Don’t get me wrong, though — no time was wasted! We made use of the time by letting a couple of students lead the class in our spelling test review, testing their leadership skills.

Afterwards, Joshua read a book he had practiced at home — with the help of Cornelia — in front of the whole class. My heart warmed as I caught glimpses of him smiling in satisfaction and confidence between each line he read. He has come so far from where he first started, and that’s something not everybody has the power, determination, or diligence to do! So you know what? I’m passing the award on to Joshua, for showing the best example of diligence last week and confidently displaying his hard work in front of his peers today!

Actually, a new reading buddies group is also emerging, so stay tuned to hear Keziah read a book with the assistance of Delight!

Seeing the children lead the class, hearing Joshua read, and feeling the eagerness for learning in the air — I am calling today a truly successful day here at TBR. But stay tuned, because exciting new things are coming soon…
