(13/06/26) Definitely Not A Beach

Updated: 1 day ago

This morning we were visited by close family friends, Aunty Grettle, a supporter of TBR since the start, and her children, Ellianne and Ryan, who took on the role of leaders today as we went through a packed day of team-building activities despite the initial rain.

Now, I could go on and on about how amazing the day was. However, today I will let the guests speak for themselves:

“The day before we went to the Titanic Beach club, we had no clue that we were coming. We were in the car when our mum said that we were going to the beach club. We were very confused but happy because we thought that we were going to the beach. That morning, we were packing our swimming things when our mum told us that it was not a beach, it was a school. Then we asked her if we really needed to go. She said that we had signed up and had to go.

When we got there, we were surprised to see how small their classrooms were. They greeted us like we were the principal. First, we practiced some phonics using tic-tac-toe. Next, we did some reading in groups, which was surprisingly interesting. When we finished that, we practiced some spelling words where we got to mark some of their work. Lastly, we did acting in groups where we picked our favourite part of a book and acted it out. We are ready to come back soon.”

Thank you so much, Aunty Grettle, Ellianne, and Ryan, for helping us today and bringing so much fun to this corner of Sakumono (which is definitely not a beach) on this gloomy morning. I have a sneaky suspicion we will be seeing more of you guys soon! 😆

Shoutout: Joshua, who shocked all of us by scoring the highest he ever has in a spelling test!

🌿 This post has come to an end! Thank you for reading, and stay tuned for the next one! Don't forget to scroll down for pictures and videos from today. 🌿
