My favorite kind of days are the ones when we spend most of the time reading a book together. Honestly, there are many reasons why. Sometimes it’s because it reduces my workload, or because it reminds me of our beginning days, but today it was because of the fun we had following a storyline together.

Our book for the day was The Adventures of Naughty Kofi:  Kofi and the Ghost by Nana Ama Buckman. It followed the story of Kofi, a notorious boy in Botikrom known for his pranks, who ends up being haunted by a “ghost” that only stalks naughty boys. Through the plot twists, enticing illustrations, and captivating writing style, the whole class found themselves completely wound up in Kofi’s story.

Because we used most of the lesson to read, which is usually not the case, and the rest of the lesson involved a lot of multitasking, so it was, of course, a bit hectic. P.S. to self: never mark while leading a spelling test review and calling out marks. It’s not the most peaceful experience 😅.

I did enjoy marking the spelling tests today, though, because there is always some sort of drawing competition or trend going on at the back of the sheet. Today’s theme was… me! I received a heartfelt message and a couple of portraits. You can decide if they are accurate 🤣.

The day ended beautifully when Aunty Georgina rewarded me with a certificate for completing the IT lab and library project. I am still overjoyed that I got to do this project, and I can’t wait to see how it impacts the community.
