A special visitor, the highest number of 10/10’s in TBR history, our head girl’s birthday, AND Nutella! Was I just dreaming that today happened?!
Today was actually a great example of how a great day at TBR is most of the time a bit spontaneous 😅.
Before I let the pictures do the talking, I would just like to narrate to you guys how we got the industrial-sized bucket of Nutella you will later see in the video…
Two words: A gift. Yes, I know I sound like the sweetest tooth ever to receive 3 kilos of Nutella as a gift, but it was actually of really good intention and super sweet (the thought behind it, not the Nutella itself—though yes, it was very smooth and yummy 😋). See, my exchange student sister, Gaia, had told her parents that I liked Nutella weeks prior to her family arriving in Ghana from Italy, and her mother also likes Nutella, so she thought, “Why not give them this bucket lying around?”
Before I could finish the Nutella jar I already had at home, a suitcase weighed down by chocolate goodness and a very kind gift-giver arrived at our front door.
Though the very thought seems enticing, finishing an industrial bucket of Nutella before it dries out would be a liver-killing achievement.
“So, what exactly should we do with this?” Mom and I contemplated as the chocolate giant sat between us on the dining table.
“Hmm,” Mom started, “maybe Titanic?”
“Mmmmm,” I responded, nodding my head…
Ok, now that you've seen the flashback, I hope there will not be a need for any further explanations for how TBR was able to get themselves a never-seen-before (at least by me 🤷) bucket of Nutella and use it to play a game.
Ultimately, I was thrilled with our resourcefulness; the Nutella, which likely would've gone to waste at home, became the centerpiece of a fun game with the TBR children. And don't worry – despite how it might look in the video, everyone enjoyed a perfectly moderate, fun-sized portion!
I would also like to shout out Michaela Gyasi, who helped us “spread the happy” today—without her, Mom and I would've walked out there looking like a chocolate monster had spat all over us.
Last but not least, Happy Birthday, Rebecca!!! We celebrated our beloved head girl's birthday with a song and gifted her with extra Nutella. Yum! 😋
