The Hundred Book Challenge

Other than playing with my Barbie dolls and recording YouTube videos (IYKYK), six years ago you would have found me nose-deep in a book. What was unique about this was that every time you saw me, it would be a different book—sometimes multiple in one day! As much as I would love to sit here, point to my nose, and say it was because I have been scholarly from a young age, the truth is that I was simply dedicated to a challenge: the 100-book challenge.
One hundred books at 8 years old!? You might be thinking exactly what I thought when I was initially challenged by a family friend. However, that didn’t stop me from pursuing the dream, especially with the promise of a big reward. Now, as a 14-year-old, I have brought the idea back. Recently, I pitched it to TBR, where the students are roughly the same age I was back then. Granted, I haven't pitched a specific reward yet, but here at TBR, it’s well-known that hard work pays off.
With the newly-built library at our finger tips, achieving this goal seems more accessible than ever. The criteria are simple: write down the title, the author, and your favorite part. As this challenge develops, I plan to include fun surprises at different milestones to keep the motivation high. After all, when I did it, my own motivation descalated like a skier down a steep slope after I barely scraped past 50 books!
Anywho, I just wanted to share this quick update and the poster I made. Have a good day, and feel free to share any recommendations to make this challenge even better for the kids!
