Warm Little Feelings (28/06/25)

A lot of things make me happy: catching a sunrise or sunset, watching a great movie while snuggled up in a fuzzy blanket, eating my favorite food after a long day of school, reading a great book before bed to set the tone for my dreams, and much more. But today, I discovered something new that makes me happy and excited—something I cannot describe with just one word or phrase because it is not something tangible—it is a warm little feeling.
Let me give a quick rundown on what happened today that made me feel this way:
Mom took the boys who always help carry our learning materials and food containers into the classroom on a joy ride! They did a quick loop around the neighborhood, and everybody pointed out where their house was, including Mom. We actually discovered that a lot of the boys pick some of our abrofo nkatie from the big tree beside our house 🥜!
When I entered the classroom, I saw Rebecca leading the class in a vocabulary review – just like I would!
Because there was noise outside, we needed a loud voice to read the storybook, and I had a sore throat. So, for the first time in what feels like ages, Mom took over reading, and I could tell how happy she was and how engaged the children were. I definitely learned a lot from her reading style!
Rebecca, once again, made me feel so appreciated by showing me a book summary she did on her own and a warm little message 🥹
At the end of the day, we played outside, and I learned and played ampe with the TBR girls!!!
But even with all this joy, there was a part that was sad: Gaia’s goodbye. She gave a little speech, and everybody waved, clapped, and thanked her. Ahhh, with all of these goodbyes and new game/activity introductions, I have deemed that the month of June was the month of new beginnings. So, I guess the warm little feeling I felt throughout today was not just joy and not just grief—it was a bittersweet feeling that is mostly sweet—because I am most excited for what we will do next!
